The Metz Performance Racing Team consists of: Bryan Metz, Tammy Metz and Mike Rees.

I started racing soon after high school in 1987. Learning as I went, I built and drove the 1979 Malibu & raced in the Modified Super Stock Association classes. After setting the ET records three years in a row and winning two championships in that class, I decided to further challenge myself by racing in the Super Street class where I set the class record for ET four years in a row. Through those record setting years, 2005-2008, we made several changes. One change being the driver. Mike’s driving debut was in 2007 where he won 3 out of 4 races that we attended; resetting the ET class record at every race.

Throughout my racing years, I missed two seasons of racing in 2002 and 2003. During those seasons, I started working for Team Jegs on Troy Coughlin’s NHRA Pro Stock team. While there, in 2003, I became the crew chief for Troy and continued to do so in the NHRA Pro Mod class, along with Mike who assists in engine and vehicle maintenance. As crew chief for Troy, we won several events ranging from “The Big Dog $50,000 Shoot Out” to “NMCA Pro Street”~ where in 2006 came in 2nd worldwide. We have several years of professional experience behind us with state of the art knowledge on chassis design and building race cars.

After competing in three events this season The Metz Performance Team decided to take the rest of the season off to regroup for the 2009 season.

We entered the season with high expectations, unfortunately, they were not met. We qualified number one at every event attended and even managed to set a new class record in the process. Unfortunately the old engine parts just couldn’t take the abuse anymore and were failing every time out. After looking at how many races we had left we felt it was in our best interest to get a head start for 2009 season. With the help of our local engine builder C&S Performance and legendary engine builder Sonny Leonard leading the way, the new power plant was started.

At this time if everything goes according to plan, we will debut a new state of the art Metz Performance 25.2 chassis, wrapped with a 1990 camaro body. Not only will this help us, it will benefit our customers as well, as our r&d quest will continue with the latest of designs. This new car will fit the Modified Super Stock classes as well as the NMCA NPS and Super Street classes, giving us several places to compete.
